Transits

Use our Optical Tooling transits to construct reference geometry for your alignment work. They are just the thing when you need parallel planes, perpendicular planes, or plumb planar references. Establish orthogonality with another instrument by employing the extreme precision of autocollimation techniques. Our 76RH-190 Telescopic Transit Square is the “workhorse” of our line, with its infinity-focused telescope mounted dead center in the trunnion (cross) axis. The 771 Jig Transit (without cross-axis telescope) is excellent for establishing straight lines and flat planes. These extremely flexible instruments may be used to precisely align many types of mechanical systems. These include large processing mills (paper, pulp, steel, thin film, plastic), converting equipment (printing presses and coating lines), evaluation/calibration of machine tools, power generation, extruders, and much more.
